My Disney World Experience and Guide

I grew up watching Disney channel and love everything about Disney from the songs, shows, movies, and characters. So when Courtney told me she wanted to have her bachlorette party in Disney World, my first thought was HECK YES!! Honestly, Disney World exceeded every expectation I had. I grew up hearing how magical and fun it was, but I honestly doubted how magical it could really be. I cannot say this enough, Disney is seriously the most magical place on earth. My heart felt so full and over joyed with everything I saw and did.

I could not have gone with a better group of ladies for my first Disney experience. We were all willing to embrace our inner child and allow ourselves to be present for everything. We enjoyed the simple rides, the scary rides, the characters, the music, the sing-a-longs, the food, the details, the parades, the fireworks, and so much more. Thank you Courtney for including me on your Bachelorette Party adventures!

Where We Stayed

We stayed at the Disney's All-Star Music Resort. This resort is one of their cheaper ones. I would highly recommend spending the extra money to stay at a Disney resort versus at a hotel not located at Disney because all the resorts provide transportation that will help save you money in the long run and be easier when traveling to and from parks. Our resort included complimentary transportation to and from Orlando International Airport using The Disney Magical Express. The Disney Magical Express also includes: complimentary luggage delivery from Orlando International Airport to your Disney Resort hotel room between 5:00 AM and 10:00 PM. This way you don't have to worry about getting your luggage at baggage claim when you land. Our resort also included complimentary Disney bus rides that would take you to and from the theme parks, water parks, and Disney Spring area. It had two beautiful pools, one was even shaped like a guitar which I though was pretty neat, a food court area, a gift shop, a playground, and jogging trails. This resort offers complimentary Wifi as well. We did eat at their food court one night for dinner and enjoyed it.

Day 1: Disney Springs

After we were settled at the hotel and had completed our grocery shopping, we headed to the Disney Springs area. Disney Springs offers so many different things such as gift shops, musical entertainment, activities, and restaurants. We ate at Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza and I had the BBQ chicken pizza (added blue cheese). Talk about finger licking good!

Day 2: Epcot

We kicked off this Bachelorette party enjoying drinks around the world starting in Canada and ended in Mexico. Epcot was amazing because they really do make you feel like you have traveled to different parts of the world. Each area has it's own signature styles, restaurants, and music. A lot of the different princesses and characters can be found throughout this park during specific times of the day. I've attached a link here that will show you where the characters will be and at what time for this park. Definitely stay until they close or leave and then come back because you will not want to miss the firework show as they close.

What we did: We made it our mission to taste drinks around the world and we accomplished it without anyone getting sick or lost:) If this is something you might like to do as well then I highly recommend buying the wine walk package while in France at Les Vins de France. You receive two wine glasses and get to refill them in Italy, and Germany. We chose not to ride any rides in this park but they do have a couple different rides such as Mission Space, Soar'in Around the World, Spaceship Earth, and the test track.

Where we ate: For dinner we ate at Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria in Italy. It ranges from $15 to $35 dollars per adult and around $10 for kids. No, you don't need to have a special fancy outfit to eat here. We wore our Epcot t-shirts with pants, and most people wear what they had on at the parks. If you are a pesto fan then I recommend getting the Petto de Pollo ( pounded chicken and oven roasted vegetables with a pesto sauce). It was very tasty, but I did have trouble eating it all so come hungry. They only take card or cash so if you have the magic wristbands, please remember to bring a card with you for this restaurant. Also, if dining here with a group, they do no allow everyone to pay separate so one person will be in charge of paying the bill. We were able to book our table reservation earlier in the day, but normally they do not take same day reservations.

Our Shirts: They were custom made. One of the ladies in the group knew someone who made them special for us. Check out their Instagram @cashoushcompany to place your own order.

Day 3: Magic Kingdom

Yes, we were the girls you saw with happy tears rolling down our cheeks, mickey ears on our heads, and giddy goofy smiles on our faces. Seeing the Disney castle in person was a life long dream of mine that finally came true. I felt like a child again as I watched Mickey, Goofy, and Minnie come down main street during the parade. This park is a must see when you book you trip to Disney World. Most of the rides were smaller, but still enjoyable. My favorite part of the day was watching the Once Upon a Time firework show and performance in the evening. Trust me, you are going to want to sit as close and centered to the castle as possible, so get there early to grab a spot.

What we did:

  • Astro Orbiter- This ride is a classic as it spins around in circles. It also allows you to control the rocket by making it go up and down.

  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad- The line was extremely long, but went by pretty quick. I had fun on this ride and would ride it again.

  • Dumbo the Flying Elephant- This ride is also a classic and was fun.

  • Mad Tea Party- What's not to love about a ride that spins around in circles very fast.

  • The Magic Carpets of Aladdin- This ride is similar to the Astro Orbiter and Dumbo the Flying Elephant.

  • Prince Charming Regal Carousel- You can't leave this park and not ride the famous carousel. The line goes by super fast.

  • Space Mountain- Use your fast pass on this ride as it's a MUST RIDE! Make sure that all of your belongings are secured tightly and that you don't have a hat or glasses on your head because you will most likely lose them.

  • Under the Sea- Journey of the Little Mermaid - Be ready to enjoy the Little Mermaid movie in a whole new way and don't forget to sing along.

  • Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor- This show honestly exceeded my expectations. It had me laughing from start to finish! I would highly recommend checking this show out.

  • Met Ariel- It blew my mind how in character she stayed. She was the only princess that I met, but she did an amazing job!

  • Swiss Family Tree house- This was really neat to walk through and see. I wish I had a tree house that looked anything like this haha.

Where we ate: You're allowed to bring in outside food and drinks. A lot of people had small coolers with them and backpacks. We carried snacks in our fanny packs and carried a water bottle. We also grabbed mickey pretzels while we were there. For dinner, we went back to the resort and ate at the food court.

Our Shirts:They were also custom made by the same person who made our other shirts. Check out their Instagram @cashoushcompany to place your own order.

Day 4: Disney's Hollywood Studios

This was by far my favorite park! I could not get over all the details that went into designing Toy Story Land. Take the time to at least walk through Toy Story because it will blow your mind! The rides here were a blast! We could not have planned a better way to end the trip.

What we did: Seriously, everything I list should be on your to do list while visiting this park.

  • Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith- This ride goes super fast and has a couple different loops. It does have long wait so I would recommend getting a fast pass. Overall though this is a MUST RIDE!

  • Slinky dog dash- I thoroughly enjoyed this ride and it also has a long wait.

  • Star Tours- The Adventure Continues- This was a 3D space ride that was entertaining and a great break from all the walking.

  • Toy Story Mania- This was the best interactive ride ever!! This is also a MUST RIDE!

  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror - I was terrified the moment we walked into this building. They have done an amazing job at making it feel incredibly creepy, while also making it the best ride ever as you fall to your death. This is a MUST RIDE!

  • The First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration- This show was the perfect blend of sing-along moments and laughing moments. I seriously have not laughed so hard during a show. The historians add a unique twist making it perfect entertainment for kids and adults. This is a MUST DO!

Where we ate: Again we brought food in our fanny packs and mostly ate our snacks. We did grab a late lunch at ABC Commissary located at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Commissary Lane. Their menu is american cuisine and during lunch its prices range from $10-$20 per adult and $7 for kids.

My Tips

  1. To save money, bring your own snacks and drinks either in a backpack, cooler, or fanny pack.

  2. For the sake of your feet, PLEASE bring tennis shoes that are comfy, and are great for walking. My feet were killing me at the end of everyday, because let's be honest, I didn't wear the best shoes.

  3. I recommend taking an Uber or Lyft to a Walmart once you have checked in to load up on food and drinks for you room (and for snacks at the park). This saved us a lot of money because we never had to buy breakfast, lunch, or drinks unless we choose to. Disney does have a lot of great food spots that are definitely worth trying, but if the budget is tight this idea may help a little.

  4. We had the magic bands that made it simple when buying things around the park and when using our fast passes on the rides. You just swipe your band and at the end of the trip you will get the final bill. They do make you put down a $100 hold to activate it, but you will get back whatever you don't spend. Be aware that it does take a couple days after you have checked out for all the final adjustments in your bank accounts to settle.

If you have any further questions about Disney World or my trip, please feel free to ask. I hope you all get to go here some day because it is truly a place worth visiting.

Much Love, Reba Faye
